I’ve been adhering to my promise of spending several hours a week on twitter.com, and I’m beginning to see sprouts of growth in my interest level and commitment. My son has been touting this to me for years, but I’m slow to catch on to these things.

I’ve been following Cindy Ratzlaff @BrandYou who offers 10 twitter video tips sent individually over a reasonable period of time. I’ve been able to watch and implement her suggestions, and I feel as though I’m getting to know a colleague in a professional and beneficial way.

I came across Chip Conley last week, blogged and tweeted about him. He tweeted back! So, I’m seeing the playing field level as I acknowledge celebrities I’m meeting who are responding in kind.

That’s what I’d heard about twitter–that you have direct access to leaders and mavens, but to actually hear back from Chip was the high point of my weekend. BTW, he wrote me from Burning Man.

And finally, I saw the last performance of One Man, Two Guvnors yesterday which was AMAZING! I went to the star’s twitter site to see how he was feeling about the show’s ending. I felt as though I got to be backstage because his tweets were quite intimate.

We’ve just done the warm up and five members of the cast are crying already! This is gonna be an emotional afternoon!

I’m tiptoeing into this phenomenon in my own late-bloomer-ish way, but I’m getting there…and getting hooked in the process. Hope I can bring some of you along in the process. Anybody have secrets, fun tips or inspiring news to share about your twitter experiences?
