Today is the early bird registration deadline for a brand new program I’m co-leading on October 4. It’s called An Invitation to Get Real, and my partner is Brad Isaacs–a colleague from the Leadership program I took last year in CA.

Yesterday I received a registration by email that was quickly followed by a cancellation with apologies–the prospective attendee had home care issues to work through, and they’d collapsed. About an hour later, the same person re-submitted the registration saying it had all worked. We emailed back and forth a couple of times before a final call to positively confirm. “I don’t care if they starve! I’m coming!” Talk about getting real!

This example, while facetious, expresses exactly the sentiments Brad and I will be working through with our group–being authentic, getting past distractions and overcoming the self-talk that limits us all.
